What are the first things you check when a heavy-duty truck develops a mechanical
#1
Hi everyone, I’m interested in hearing how other mechanics and technicians approach heavy-duty truck problems. When a truck starts losing power, making unusual engine sounds, overheating, or showing a warning light, what do you check first?
I usually start with the basics such as fluid levels, visible leaks, electrical connections, fault codes, and signs of overheating before moving into more detailed diagnostics. What troubleshooting steps have worked best for you?
