Hi Everyone, a Royal Navy Submarine Service Veteran here
#1
Mercedes
That was before I was medically discharged in 1993/1994. Went back into higher education, gained my bachelors then fell into the wrong industry for my newly acquired skills. Doh.
I do however Love my 2005 Mercedes Benz C220 CDI Classic SE Estate, one beautiful car and has made me passionate about Mercedes Benz cars now. Love them. It's a bit like Apple computers, once you test drive them you won't go back to anything else. I test drove my MB 5 years ago now and said yes to it. I have loved driving her ever since until she broke down with a major turbo failure last November. Since then I have been repairing and cleaning out the fallout of that failure ever since. She failed the Mot earlier this week, so I need to work on a few more bits to get her past. No I am not a mechanic, my background 'was' in Telecomms Engineering, so she has been one almighty challenge and huge steep learning curve for me. However after changing the turbo, the alternator, the starter motor, the power steering pump, a few light bulbs, and cleaning out what I could bar the engine and getting very very black in then process, I am quite proud of what I have achieved. One of my long term friends even suggested a career change perhaps!! I said "Only to do Mercedes Benz cars, nothing else!!"
I am still considering it though OR simply repairing failed electrical/electronic parts instead and just continuing to do repairs on my own Merecedes Benz cars.
Oh and I am currently on medication for severe depression. Long story re things happening in my life with the culmination of an absolutely 'Horrendous' 2019 which I will be glad to see the back of.
