Hi! Just found this forum, high hopes we can help each others perpetuate the right to repair!
When my step dad passed away I inherited his 2002 F-250 Superduty 7.3L Powerstroke, which he kind of not used enough in the prior years.The money vaporizing rabbit hole I fell into.
My step Dad had this friend that fixed all his little 2 stroke things he called "Bob Moteur". That nickname defaulted to me when I began getting the beast back to life. Wife, kids, neighbors somehow all calling me "Bob" when ever I was "working" on the truck. I knew near nothing beyond engine general basic maintenance, even less about diesel.
He we are 6 years later, the Beast thought me perseverance and humility (and coagulation) through its rusty bolts.
My daughter came up with the name.. coming home to have her power steering pump fixed as I was changing my son's starter..
"Bob's Pro Bono Mechanics"
Besides my 7.3L, son's got a 2004 Sierra 1500 5.3L and daughter's got a 2019 Hyundai Accent. Making the quest for knowledge wide spectrum
