Introduction - MasterX767 - 10-21-2025 Hello Everyone, I am a 52 year old Generation X Auto Enthusiest. I grew up disadvantaged and hated the fact that my parrents drove crappy cars. They could of fixed them really easily. So, I swore I would learn how to fix my own car so I would have all the features I payed for. I soon learned that cars are junky. I couldn't keep up with all the repairs on my Chevy Camaro IROC-Z. I ALWAYS had something to do on that thing. So, I dug in deeper and learned to buy Japaneese. YEP. A HONDA Civic HX while I was in college (44mpg). Best car I've EVER owned. It was a lifesaver. I just wish in business people took you seriously while driving one of those. I now drive Mercedes and BMW. I recently own a 2006 BMW 525i (e60 body code). I really like the car. Except, it has an enormous amount of maintenence. ENORMOUS!!! I learned how to program the car and use the software suite to code it. WTF? What a pain in the ass. I prefer to just fix and drive. If it weren't for a cabal of e60 BMW owners and mechanics on YouTube, I would of trashed the car years ago. When I fix it myself, the repairs are affordable. It's all the needed upgrades I have to do that are annoying. I miss my E350 4MATIC. That car was EASY to service. Simple and elligent. If I had the opportunity to buy another one I would. My e60 is great to drive when serviced. I have to replace the head gasket (second time). I'm in that project now. The car has 205K miles. I would like to make it to 1 million. Let's see. |
